A practical vintage sterling silver 925 cigarette case with radiating sunburst engravings in new old stock condition with a rasied lip upon the lid tip. The case is sized to fit modern day cigarettes or small cigars. The inside of the case is gold guilded in colour. Marked wityh S.J hallmark and the Danish year hallmarking. The first Danish hallmarking was made in Copenhagen at the end of the 15th century. In 1893 the "Three-tower" mark of Copenhagen was adopted as the national mark in the new standardized hallmarking system. Copenhagen had the only Assay Office in Denmark.
